The " Echos des voix féminines" project is designed to reach out to young women in rural areas, in the Marrakech-Safi region, in order to give them a voice, to shine a light on their own vision of society and allow them to express their hopes and plans. Moreover, violence against women has become very widespread and part of everyday life in recent years. In the job market, their situation is more insecure than that of men, and they are more likely to be unemployed. In rural areas, less than one third of young women are educated at school and more than half are illiterate. Despite legislation designed to support equality and protect women's rights in Morocco, there is continuing discrimination and violation of these rights.
